Jane Coats Eckert and Jonas Stirner to Speak at WAA

The Washington Art Association will host a power point slide lecture by Jane Coats Eckert and Jonas Stirner highlighting their years on Captiva Island, Florida with Artist Robert Raushenberg as well as their travels curating and installing museum exhibitions with him throughout Europe.

Jane Coats Eckert established Eckert Fine Art in 1996 in Naples Florida before Rauschenberg’s death in 2008. The gallery is now located on Titus Road in Washington Depot. She has also served as Chair of the Director’s Advisory at Mass MoCA, Chair of the Presidents Circle at Hancock Shaker Village and as Secretary of the Fine Art Dealers Association. Jane Coats Eckert was voted one of the most influential people in Litchfield County by Litchfield Magazine.

Jonas Stirner, an accomplished painter and sculptor himself, assisted Rauschenberg in the technical creation, shipping and installation of Rauschenberg’s art work internationally. In 2019 Stirner opened Stirner Modern Gallery integrating avant garde and experimental art with traditional work by regional and international artists. Stirner Modern Gallery is located in Easton, Pa.
