ADULTS/14+
Explore the art of mosaics in this engaging mosaic class. For the first three weeks, students will create a small tile focusing on working with pottery in Picassette, the
second week we’ll concentrate on working with glass, and the third week we’ll concentrate on creating with natural objects, such as twigs, rocks or seashells. Weeks 4-6, you will create a larger project of your own design using the skills of the previous three weeks. Using ceramic, stone, glass, natural and found objects, students will design mosaics with a variety of materials provided. You’re also welcome to bring personal items like trinkets or jewelry to incorporate into your piece. Through demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, you’ll learn the mortar method — no messy grout required! This class offers a fun, supportive environment to spark your creativity and is perfect for anyone curious about trying mosaics. All materials, including a substrate base, are included.
A materials fee of $30 will include a base for each of the four projects, mortar, and a set amount of material for this project. All tools will be provided.
Material’s List: Each student is welcome to bring one or two memento objects or relics, if they wish to use them in their mosaic.
