The Magic of Fire with Pam Church

Discover the thrill and joy of raku pottery! Engage in the captivating process of firing ceramics with flame and smoke. Collaborate in teams to fire each piece, fostering a shared learning experience. Explore classic raku glazes like white crackle and metallics. Personalize your creations with unique touches using horsehair, feathers, and other materials. The day will include a celebratory potluck, and you’ll leave with your own finished raku masterpieces.

 

Cancellation Policy

Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops). Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit. Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit.

Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make-ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class. Membership fees are non-refundable.

Bring to workshop:

1. Four bisqued stoneware or raku clay pieces no more than 8” wide and 8” tall – an even wall thickness is best! (You may bring more pieces with you, but the number
of students, size of pieces and time will determine what gets fired). 
2. Food for lunch to share with the group.
3. Wear cotton clothing only and closed-toed shoes.
4. Respirator/N95 mask (optional).
