Location: Washington Art Association General Studio
Join us for a traditional painting class using environmentally safe materials. We will focus on mixing colors with a limited palette. Still lives and landscapes will be used to explore the concepts of perspective, composition, and spatial relationships. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class promises to be a supportive environment where creativity flourishes.

Cancellation Policy
Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops). Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit. Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit.
Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make-ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class.
Membership fees are non-refundable.

- titanium white [lefranc] i find this brand the best to work with, though any titanium white is ok

- Rosemary & Co. #3, 6, 16 shiraz flats [if you have bristle brushes in good condition that’s fine]
- cheap watercolor mop
- cheap bristle brush 1″or 1.5 “wide
- Chip brush [hardware store ]
- Small palette knife for mixing paint

- centurion op dlx [oil primed linen panel] 11 x 14 or 14 x 18 or oil primed stretched linen 11 x 14 or 14 x 18

- Proportional dividers by accurasee [amazon]
- Bounty paper towels
- Disposable paper palette for mixing oil colors [I use a glass palette]
- Plastic grocery bag for dirty paper towels
- Glass container with lid [empty jelly jar or equivalent]
I use rembrandt , windsor-newton, gamblin and vasari oil paints, but any artist grade oil paints will work. Student grade oil paints are not recommended.
