About the Exhibition
The Young Talent Exhibition was a much-loved tradition in WAA’s annual programming for more than two decades, providing a vital platform for emerging voices in contemporary art. Past participants include now-established artists such as Eric Aho, Cat Balco, Erin Raedeke, Giordanne Salley, Amy Lincoln, and Mark Brousseau. WAA is excited to reintroduce this influential platform for a new generation of artists in 2026.
Eligibility
Open to artists under 30 years of age who are not currently enrolled in a degree-granting program.
Artwork Requirements & Submission Materials
Submission package must include:
5 images of recent work (digital files).
A current CV (including education, exhibitions, and awards).
An artist's statement outlining your practice and intent.
All submitted work must be original, created within the last 3 years, and not previously exhibited at WAA.
There is no fee to submit your work.
Accepted Media: painting, photography, works on paper (drawing, printmaking, watercolor, collage), sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, new media, digital, and installation.
Presentation: Images must be clear, professional-quality documentation. For installation or time-based work, include detailed descriptions of equipment and spatial requirements.

Submission Deadline: Sunday January 4th, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: Tuesday January 20th, 2026
Delivery/Installation of Accepted Work: Sunday February 8th, Monday February 9th, 10-4pm
Exhibition Dates: February 14 – March 14th, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday February 14th, 4–6 PM
Pick-up of Work: Monday–Tuesday, February 16-17th, 2026 (10-4pm)
Sales & Insurance:
WAA will retain a 40% commission on all works sold.
Work will be insured while on the premises.
General Exhibition Proposal Form
Curatorial Proposals (Group Exhibitions)
The Exhibitions Committee considers proposals for thoughtfully curated, thematic group shows with four or more artists. We are not currently reviewing submissions from individual artists.
