AVERILL FARM IS CELEBRATING ITS 275TH BIRTHDAY!
As part of the celebration, Ira Barkoff will conduct a 2-day plein air
Painting Workshop at the hill top farm. Painters will have many subjects to paint: the orchard, the fields, old diary barns, and the spectacular vistas.
Paintings produced during the workshop may be displayed for sale at the public celebration on August 28th and 29th. (Averill Farm will retain 25% of all sales and donate proceeds to the Washington Art Association.)
Averill Farm is a family farm, which has been operated continuously by the Averill’s since it was purchased in 1746 from the holdings of Chief Waramaug. For many years it was a dairy farm. Today, the 260-acre bucolic property is primarily a fruit orchard, but also produces hay and Christmas trees.
