About Eric Aho
Eric Aho is an acclaimed American painter whose work explores the natural world through a dynamic combination of observation, memory, abstraction, and representation. His career began in Northwest Connecticut, where he exhibited in the Washington Art Association’s Young Talent Show in 1992, an early opportunity that preceded his emergence as a nationally recognized artist.
Aho received his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and studied in London, Cuba, and Finland, where he completed postgraduate work as a Fulbright Fellow. He has exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad, with solo exhibitions at the Hood Museum of Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, Currier Museum of Art, and Burlington City Arts Center, among others.
His paintings are held in major collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Hood Museum of Art, and New Britain Museum of American Art.
Aho was elected a National Academician of the National Academy of Design in 2009 and has received numerous honors, including the John Koch Award for Painting, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant, and the 2022–2024 Finlandia Foundation National Artist of the Year designation. He continues to live and work in Vermont and is represented by DC Moore Gallery in New York.

For the Washington Art Association, this event is especially meaningful. More than three decades ago, a young Eric Aho exhibited his work at WAA’s Young Talent Show in 1992. Today, we are delighted to welcome him back as an accomplished and nationally recognized artist for this special signing.
