Description
This workshop is designed to emphasize the simple method by which all good paintings are constructed. Can you imagine using one brush that makes a short brush stroke similar to the shape and size of your thumb nail? We will build several paintings from this building block. You will be taught to make a simple design that guides your brush. You will mix colors from a limited but complete palette. You will learn how color mixes to create form, light and shadow.
Several short lectures will illustrate where this technique is used in Art. Many greats learned how to paint this way. All art is built with this method. Lastly, we will review how it is personalized to create an artist’s style.
You will learn how to mix color, how to draw for painting, how paintings are built and how paintings are finished.
We will look at the major pitfall that keeps a student from making successful art. This method keeps you from the trap that limits your progress. You will learn the most important discipline in the construction of a work of art. You don’t need to have ever painted to immediately make art.
If you know how to paint but don’t know how to advance to the next level, this is the method artists use to do so. The trick is that painting Art can be simplified and be what you see.
