Location: Washington Art Association Ceramic Studio
Learn the best methods of working with clay and creating a sculpture from start to finish. You will learn about movement, structure, proportions, anatomy as well as some sculpture history. Create a bust, figure or relief sculpture of a family member or animal from your photos and reference materials. This class is geared towards the individual student’s interests and ideas that wishes to learn more about sculpting in clay.
The class welcomes beginner, intermediate and advanced artists. You are welcome to contact the instructor, Michael, directly with any questions regarding the program at michaelkeropian@gmail.com.
Fees:
- Firing fees will be paid to the instructor (firing will be off-site and handled by the instructor)
- Clay fee of $25 to be paid to the instructor

Cancellation Policy
Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops). Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit. Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit.
Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make-ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class. Membership fees are non-refundable.
Supplies:
- Students may bring in basic ceramic wooden tools or household items to be used as tools, e.g., wooden chopsticks (tools will also be provided to students to use in class)
- Spray bottle
- Plastic kitchen bag to cover work
- Option to bring photos and reference materials to sculpt from
