Transforming the commonplace: An invitation to make work from subjects that are seldom portrayed. Memorials to the refuse of our lives, Still life has always have been extraordinary for painters. Bonnard’s tables are full of food. Marandi’s bottles and cans bring his town of Bologna to life as he transforms ordinary objects into an architecture of stillness. The invitation is to take the banalest and persistent things that never get honored in art and to memorialize them. Bring focus to that which is unportrayed – the non represented.
