Our History

For more than 70 years, the Washington Art Association has been a vital part of the creative life of Litchfield County.

Our exhibitions have featured a wide range of artists, from local and emerging talent to nationally recognized figures such as Charles Cajori, Tom Doyle, Tim Prentice, Alexander Calder, and Cleve Gray.

Exhibitions Committee Mission

We aim to create an exhibition program that sparks discovery and conversation, balancing three core commitments:

• Bringing artists of national recognition to Washington for the benefit of our members, students, and community

• Introducing our audience to new and diverse voices

• Showcasing the work of our talented members, students, and teaching faculty

Proposals & Submissions

We welcome thoughtfully conceived curatorial proposals for group exhibitions and we welcome portfolio submissions to be considered for future shows.

All members are invited to participate in our Annual Members’ Exhibition and several thematic members’ shows held throughout the year.
