Location: Washington Art Association’s General Studio
This series of classes will explore several ways of printing monotypes by hand on Japanese papers as well as printing on the studio etching press.
Last year’s exhibition, About Printmaking, created interest in other processes such as carborundum aquatint and drypoint and these techniques used by artists from Rembrandt to Joan Mitchell, will be combined with monotype to create a series of unique monoprints.
Non-toxic inks will be used where the solvent for clean-up is Dawn detergent. Therefore, artists will work in a fume-free environment.
No previous printmaking experience is necessary.
