Dorothy Lyman. Playwright, actor, monologist and teacher offers an ongoing writing workshop to develop your Memoir. Identify and develop your seminal story, the one only you can tell!

Socrates said “Know Thyself.” What a wealth of discovery is possible in just those 2 words! Memoir, no matter why you write it, illuminates the self. Even if no one ever sees it, you have gotten it out of your system, gained perspective and opens new doors…And just might be surprised at what you discover.

We will write together, hear each other’s work and identify the themes and stories that resonate with each of you.

My goal is to create a community, a web of trust and curiosity about ourselves and our stories.

Cancellation Policy

Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops). Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit. Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit. Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class. Membership fees are non-refundable.
