Come Master Color for Beautiful Oil Paintings! with Patty Fogle – Winter 2026

Price range: $240.00 through $305.00

6 weeks

Thursdays, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM | January 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19 and 26

Location: Washington Art Association General Studio

This class simplifies your understanding of how complementary colors build the complete canvas space to elevate the quality of your artwork. Radiant Light, Atmosphere, Form & Shadow all come from essential contrasts on your palette that allow you to create any personal expression you wish from a suggestion of reality to abstraction.

Quick charcoal sketches help you design the space to see how the pattern of light holds your composition together & serves as a visual map to follow into color. Then your natural brushstrokes transform surface appearance into a poetic interpretation of your original idea with minimal detail.

You’ll be in control of the language of color with the freedom to explore unlimited possibilities. Bring your ongoing artwork for evaluation, or create a new series. All ideas and individual plans are welcome.

Prior experience with the materials is recommended.
