Policies & Procedures
Class Policy
Registration
Advance registration is strongly recommended to secure a student’s place in class and to ensure that the class will run. Enrollment is limited and accepted on a first-paid basis. Registrations will not be processed without payment. A minimum enrollment is required. In addition, a maximum enrollment exists to ensure the quality of the student’s experience. Only fully paid registrations will be considered enrolled. By delaying payment, individuals run the risk of being wait-listed or classes being canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
Code of Conduct
Students and assistants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is not disruptive to the learning environment. Electronic devices for personal use are not permitted in the classroom, unless directly related to classwork, such as gathering or sharing reference materials.
Cancellation Policy
Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops).
Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit.
Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit.
Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make-ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class.
Membership fees are non-refundable.
Inclement Weather Policy
Should Regional School District #12 (Shepaug Valley School) be closed due to inclement weather Washington Art Association classes/ workshops are canceled automatically.

Credit card
Cash

Class Levels

Publicity Waiver
Unless Education Staff is notified in writing, enrollment indicates that the student or legal guardian of the student grants permission to Washington Art Association for use of photographs and/or images of artwork and/or students for Washington Art Association educational, publicity, archival, or grant purposes. These images will be in print, media, or broadcast formats. Written requests denying this permission must be given on or before the first day of class.
