Also from Matisse, Manet, Cezanne, Lucian Freud and/or your choice of masterwork
An exploration of still life oil painting through the lens of both modern and historical work.
In this six-week course we will focus on composition and rendered form using inspiration from
still-life masters of the past. The class will be divided into 3 two-monday sessions where we
will both copy and re-use masterworks as departures for our own compositions.
The class is limited to 10 people and there will be plenty of time for individualized conversations
and assistance. We will have a supportive discussion/critique at the end of each two week
session.
I will bring compositions and props, but if there is a composition that you would like to work with,

Classes are Monday May 2 nd , 9 th , 16 th , 23 rd , 30 th and June 7 th, 9 -12 am.

 

Cancellation Policy

Participants who withdraw from a class must request a refund or credit more than 14 days prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full refund or credit (minus a $20 cancellation fee or 10% for one-day workshops).

Participants who cancel a registration between 8 and 14 days prior to the start of the class may receive a 50% refund or credit.

Participants who cancel a registration less than 7 days prior to the start of the class will not receive a refund or credit.

Washington Art Association does not offer prorating for classes, and there are no make-ups, credits or refunds if a student misses a class.

Membership fees are non-refundable.
